Bow Tie Bad Boys - 1972 Chevy Nova SS
During the Build - Phase One

As of this update our eBay Nova is at John's Customz in Torrance and has so far received the new Hotchkis suspension kit in the rear. The Baer Brakes are installed on the rear as well. The ROH wheels and tires are with the car and the Nova now is on the rack at John's with the front suspension removed. We have the Global West front control arms and now we can install them to the car with the Baer front disc brake system.

The Nova's engine had an overheating problem and John Barbera accurately diagnosed that the previous owner assembled the engine with the wrong head gaskets. So at this moment the cylinder heads have been removed. I took this as an opportunity to purchase a new set of Edelbrock Performer RPM cylinder heads, an Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap intake, a set of roller rockers, and new .100 + push rods (all on eBay Motors of course). As well, I have contacted an eBay store in order to find the shocks we need.

Additionally, I have purchased a steel cowl induction hood for this car and it is in transit to John's from Atlanta, Georgia. I have also purchased on eBay a Classic Auto Air AC system (which we have received) that will be installed as soon as the engine is back together.

During the last few weeks I have been at John's Customz (almost daily) to photograph all of the work in progress. John's Customz has been a tremendous help and is ALWAYS available to come through. Right now we are waiting for more parts to arrive.

At this time I would ROUGHLY estimate that the time to complete this car with ONLY the parts that we have received and or purchased up to this time will take six more weeks, which brings us right to track day. Considering our ongoing editorial responsibilities and everything else we run into on a daily basis, we are making good progress. I'd also like to thank everyone who has helped. This is a TEAM effort and I look forward to the days and weeks ahead.
